In the greenhouse complex where vegetables are grown in accordance with the Dutch technology (small-volume hydroponics) with the roofed area of 4 hectares which was launched in 1994, vegetables, tomatoes, peppers are grown. Naftan complex was the first leading-edge technological facility in the greenhouse agriculture in the CIS. The gross harvest of vegetables makes over 1,000 tons per year. Three hectares are allocated to tomatoes, 0.83 hectares to cucumbers, 0.17 hectares to sweet pepper. Seeds come from the Netherlands and Germany.
Like in all leading-edge technologies, the greenhouse complex uses computers and modern software. Watering of the cultures and parameters of cultivation technology are managed electronically.
The vegetables are grown by hard-working and experienced people who have extent knowledge of the technology and put their best effort into growing good harvest.
In 2008 the greenhouse facility of Naftan OJSC supplied nearly 1,157 tons of fresh vegetables to the retail network (11.5 kg per each citizen of Novopolotsk). Catering service of Naftan OJSC, kindergartens, the hotel complex and Yakovtsy tourist base also consume the products of the greenhouse complex.
